Another Coverstore exclusive, Select Basic is our entry level cover for those who need basic, affordable protection for their vehicle. Made with 3 layers of nowoven materials, it has a spunbound top, breathable inner film, and a soft inner layer to protect your vehicle's finish.

Breathability of a cover is a key factor in keeping your vehicle protected. Moisture particles can get through or around any material, regardless of what the manufacturer tells you. And that moisture needs a way to escape. The breathable design of our covers does this, letting it out and preventing possible damage from moisture buildup. 

Versatile in use, Select Basic works for both indoor and outdoor storage. Dust and small debris particles in your garage might not seem like much, but over time they can take a toll on your car's finish. The same goes for the sun - those UV rays can really do a number on a paint job. With this cover, you'll cut down on the risk of damage no matter where your car's parked.

Caring for Your Covermates Select Basic Car Cover

By regularly cleaning your Covermates Select Basic car cover, you'll be prevent "fogging" from occurring on your vehicle's windows.

For machine wash, begin by inserting the cover in the washer and filling with warm water. Next, add ¼ cup laundry detergent into washer and run the delicate cycle. After the wash cycle, rinse the cover twice to be sure all detergent is removed. Allow cover to air dry before placing back on vehicle or storing.

To keep your cover looking and performing its best we suggest following these cleaning tips:

  • Don't clean it in a washing machine with center agitator
  • Don't use a fabric softener
  • Only air dry it

To hand-wash your Covermates Select Basic cover, leave it on your vehicle. Mix an ounce of mild dish-washing liquid per quart of warm water. Spray or sponge soapy water onto cover and clean with sponge or soft bristle brush. Rinse with regular water until no suds are evident and allow to air dry. Wait to store car cover away until completely dry.

Important Note: No cover is completely waterproof.

Car covers are designed with various levels of water-resistance while still being breathable to provide a maximum amount of protection for your vehicle. We recommend that you remove your cover periodically to check for any evidence of moisture. If moisture is present, we suggest that you allow the surface of your vehicle to completely dry before putting your cover back on. This will help to prevent a cloudy residue that can be left behind by trapped moisture.
